Silky’s Sunday Blues: Unknown Hinson Edition

Today’s post features an underground performer that I have had the pleasure of seeing in concert, the self-proclaimed ”King of Country Western Troubadours”.  Unknown Hinson is the persona of musician Stuart Daniel Baker, but he is far from a novelty act; while his song titles and lyrics are comedic in nature, Baker mixes elements of country, blues, and rock n’ roll to produce an unmistakable sound.  The videos below reflect both the humor and talent of Unknown Hinson, so sit back and enjoy the show.

Hinson’s views on “the interstate”:

Hinson covers some Jimi Hendrix songs, and does it well:

Hinson also voices the main character on Cartoon Network’s Squidbillies
