March Madness Edition: Day 1

There is approximately an hour before the first game tips off, which also means my work day will unofficially end. I have successfully crammed eight hours worth of work into four, so the remainder of my day will consist of a long lunch break and watching games online. Here is the link to CBS Sportsline’s March Madness on Demand–hopefully you don’t work for one of those nazis who has blocked the site’s coverage. I will be updating this post as frequently as possible, so be sure to check back in throughout the day.
- 12:04 – It looks like CBS has updated their “Boss Button”, and it’s a little bit of an improvement. In year’s past this consisted of pie charts & line graphs, probably a dead giveaway at most people’s jobs. Now it looks like an excel spreadsheet, which is a little more viable–but it still wouldn’t fool a boss with half a brain…if there is such a thing.
- 12:20 – Hello LSU vs. Butler, goodbye productivity. My computer is struggling, the games look like they are being filmed with stop-motion techniques…
- 1:47 – Anyone else hate this guy from the UPS commercials as much as me?
- 3:20 – My computer was frozen for the last hour and a half, guess it couldn’t handle all the madness. And it’s hard to act busy when you’re staring at a blank screen, but I managed to pull it off…
- 5:36 – Home sweet home…time to join the More Taste League & watch my brackets fall apart.
- 5:58 - Is it a coincidence that Duke’s mascot would look exactly like alumni Seth Davis if he grew a soul patch?
- 6:39 – I have a suspicion that the University of Washington discovered a way to clone big, white centers:

Mark Pope, 1991-93

Todd MacCulloch, 1995-99

Jon Brockman, 2006-Present
-
8:45 – It looks like Villanova may be the team that destroys my bracket this year…but it’s hard to root against American University.
