Battle at Bethpage

I am one of those crazy (some might say stupid) guys that enjoys playing golf, and watching it on television.  This week the PGA Tour travels to Farmingdale, NY for the 109th US Open, and what many call the toughest test in golf.  I don’t really have a favorite heading into the tournament, but I am rooting for anyone not named Tiger Woods.  It’s not that I don’t respect Tiger; he is undoubtedly the best on tour, and probably the best ever. When he participates however, it’s like he is the only player in the tournament.  Announcers and writers act as if he is some type of superhuman, an infallible being who was sent to Earth by the golf gods.  So while most golf fans will be rooting for a Tiger victory this weekend, I would like to see one of the other 155 guys take home the trophy…but it’s probably just wishful thinking.

Update, 11:00 a.m.: 1st round play has been suspended due to inclement weather…guess I am going to do some actual work now…
