The Power of the Schwartz

As a rule, most sports interviews are boring, and filled with clichéd questions and answers that you’ve heard a million times before.  I think much of this stems from the widespread movement towards political correctness in everthing we say or do.  The other problem lies with the bland interviewers themselves; to put it simply, there are no edgy Howard Cosell-types in the media anymore…or so I thought.  Ben Schwartz has been conducting some segments for ESPN’s Sunday Conversation recently, and I have to say that his interview style is a breath of fresh air.  He doesn’t prescribe to overrated attributes like professionalism or courtesy, and he’s not afraid to ask questions that other journalists may shy away from.

Bonus: Ben Schwartz interviews Shawne “Lights Out” Merriman
