Silky’s Sunday Blues: Darwin Day Edition

This Tuesday marks the 150th anniversary of the publishing of Charles Darwin’s “Origin of Species”.  For many, this is a day to celebrate the groundwork Darwin laid for modern evolutionary biology.  For people like Kirk Cameron, former teen star turned Christian Evangelist, it’s a day to flood college campuses with 50,000 copies of an “altered version” of Darwin’s literature that he and fellow Evangelist Ray Comfort had published.  Cameron’s “very special” edition contains a preface that presents a “balanced view of Creationism”; it also goes on to make claims such as, ”Adolph Hitler had undeniable connections with Darwin’s theory”, and “Darwin was racist and had a disdain for women” - couldn’t this claim be applicable to at least 80% of white males who lived in the 1800′s?  The following video contains the reasoning behind Cameron’s endeavor in his own words, but this version is interlaced with a rebuttal from a woman on YouTube known as “ZOMGitsCriss”.

I don’t know if it’s her hot accent, or the verbal beatdown she lays on Mike Seaver, but I think I’m in love:

Richard Dawkins – an author and proponent of Darwin’s work – discusses evolution:
