Death at a Funeral

It has been a while since comedian Chris Rock has starred in an adult themed, non-animated comedy movie that was worth seeing – by my estimation, the last would have been the 2001 cult classic Pootie Tang.  Well, it looks as though this streak may finally end with the upcoming release of a black comedy (as in themes, not in a Tyler Perry way) starring Rock titled Death at a Funeral.  The film is an American remake of a popular 2007 British film of the same name – which I haven’t seen -  and this version boasts an all-star cast of comedic actors which includes names like Tracy Morgan, Martin Lawrence, and Luke Wilson (but it also features Danny Glover, which brings back unfunny “Royal Tennenbaum” memories).  The film is due out in theaters nationwide on April 16th:
