Silky’s Saturday Smoke Out: Eek-A-Mouse Edition
Ripton Hylton released his first reggae album in 1980, shortly after adopting the stage name Eek-A-Mouse – which was taken from a horse he used to always bet on at the racetrack. He is one of the first reggae artists to be described as a “singjay,” but over the course of a 30-year career, Mr. Mouse has not confined himself to one specific style of music. And yet, he is one of those artists whose voice you recognize, regardless of what genre he happens to be experimenting with.
