To commemorate the life of an Italian explorer who inadvertently discovered the Americas (he believed he had found India) and brought slavery, war, and destruction to the inhabitants of the “New World”, let’s take a look at some other stuff that’s not important:

I would probably mark this movie under the category of “Things I wish I never knew”, but it looks like a real eye opener.  Food, Inc. is a documentary by filmmaker Robert Kenner that looks into modern food production, and the role our goverment and corporations play in it.  There have been some criticisms that its perspective is too one-sided, but that is usually the case with any film that challenges the status quo.  The film’s U.S. premiere took place in New York on June 4, and it is currently playing in limited theaters across the country.  You can check out Food, Inc.’s official website to learn more, and find out if it’s being shown at your local theater – or you can just find it on the Internet somewhere for free…

I am struggling after yesterday’s Cinco de Mayo celebration, so I spent most of the day looking at some of my favorite sites and avoiding loud noises.  Here are some things that made me laugh until my stomach hurt…which didn’t take much, but they are funny nontheless.
