The current state of the music industry, and music in general is extremely pathetic.  Unless you’re a fan of uninspired rock n’ roll (or pop, country, rap, etc), boy/girl bands, or Hannah Montana, it’s hard to find any good music on the radio or TV anymore – excluding Sirius/XM.  It’s not as if people quit playing music, and I don’t believe there is a shortage of up-and-coming talent either.  So, what’s the deally yo?

Most of the record labels, and the mega rich people who run them, blame this trend on the Internet and piracy. While this may be true in regards to these company’s profits, the Internet is now one of the only showcases for new artists.  Networks like MTV and VH1 used to be another means for exposure; but both of these stations have moved away from music, and are now spiraling towards the black hole that is reality television.  It is not a stretch to blame these problems on two common elements – greed and the dollar, dollar bill ya’ll.  Here are some artists and other people “in the know” who would agree:
